Many have asked “How do I get back on my feet after financial devastation?”
In order to begin the process of getting your life and finances in order, you must make a mental mindset shift. You have to desire things to change. This allows a turning point to take place once you make the decision. The whispers of your dreams must be greater than the cries of your fears.
Reflect on your “why” and allow it to push you towards a better financial future. Fear provides you with clues on what desires lay trapped in your heart. When you remove fear, you are able to see clearly what you want to do with your life.
Fear can sometimes allow you to settle for what you think is your best. When you are birthing your purpose, it is uncomfortable. Anything worth having isn't easy but it will be worth it.
Remind yourself daily that you are a precious child of the Most High God. Your destiny will be blessed if you have faith.
Seek God for guidance by praying. Regardless of what your current situation is, you can become more. Begin by taking your finances back to the basics. Reflect on where you are today. Then imagine where you desire to be. Even if it is making an extra $50 per month, analyze how you are spending your money. Cut out what is not necessary to make room for what your heart desires.
Daily affirmations are important during this journey. What you say to yourself daily is what is going to help you transform your life. The following are great affirmations that I say to myself daily:
• I am victorious
• I deserve everything God has for me
• I am valuable
• I am making the mental transformation needed for me, my family and legacy.
• My mind is made up and with God everything is possible.
While evaluating your finances, start with the basics. Review current and outstanding bills. Place them in order from smallest to largest. Contact every creditor you owe and explain that your goal is to get your life back in order. Inform them that you will have a payment as soon as possible. This may mean one or two months. The most important part of this process is to have a plan of action. Remember: You cannot fix it until you deal with it. Sometimes we are forced to choose which payment to make with limited FUNDS ON HAND.
Results is a key motivating factor in striving to change your financial destiny. When you come to grips with your financial reality, develop a plan to change your financial condition. Stay the course until you see change, even if at first, you do not see results. The process requires discipline and execution on your part.
Allow yourself a minimum of 21 days to understand what your current cash flow conditions are. Trust your instincts and start moving forward to a better financial position. Every 21 days, take this process to another level. The next level may be to purchase books on how to manage your finances, or cutting your expenses by $25 per month.
Wherever you are in life, maximize each situation. You create prosperity by accepting where you are and moving towards the desires of your heart. You are worthy of all that your heart desires.
Dreams are achieved through vision and faith. Many of us have faced obstacles that allowed us to become overwhelmed by the current conditions vs. thinking about ways to get out and move forward. Create the ideal future that you can imagine and as you create an image in your mind of what you want, your mind will create a working plan on how to obtain it. The most powerful thing in the world is an idea ready to form! Have a designated time and place to think, reflect, analyze and develop a plan you can execute. Expect great things. In time they will eventually come! Discover what stimulates your thoughts (it could be reading a book, podcast or seminar) and when you are most creative. Protect and utilize daily this time to effectively harvest and stretch ideas into something meaningful. Understand that a different level of thinking is required to solve today's problems. This level of thinking is different from the thought processes that created the problems. Walking into your financial destiny requires you to participate in this process daily. Don’t be afraid to start where you are. It is never too late.
This letter is written by someone who came from poverty both mentally and physically. She rose to the top on her own terms, lost it, and now she is getting it back God’s way. I believe in you. You can do it.
Make your mind up to start the journey.
I want to leave you with this powerful message from God’s word – I am praying for each of you and your destiny! God hath need of you – 1 Corinthians 2:9 states, “However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” things God has prepared for those who love him.”
All God’s best,
